There is also the strong suggestion that, while in Africa, he has become involved in some kind of black magic. Yes, this is a world where a fuck is the next in line in niceties after offering a cuppa.
Sort of like biscuits, but with more grunting. His attention to details is noted. Amazing series!!!! Love to see it on dvd for the States!
When can we expect it????? It is a good show. Well Done Tom Hardy. Excellent period drama. Sooo atmospheric, with stunning production, excellently chosen, top quality actors.

No, not in the least, it's dark, pitch dark, shot in the way a Ridley Scott film is often framed. What follows is a chess game, except with rules that make any sense to anyone not playing, Delaney kills and Hardy shows he would be a remarkable replacement for Wolverine plots and hallucinates his way through the "civilised" world.
Don't try to figure out where the plot is heading, the only person who knows is Delaney, go with him on this journey and enjoy the ride.

Mystical powers? How else to account for the chanting and visions? Let battle commence. Many will die. Eight hour long episodes. Uncomfortable but gripping viewing.
High production values. Here, painstakingly recreated, is a London as off-putting as can be - from its ludicrously bloated Prince Regent to urchins scavaging in Thames mud.

A very original serial in which an atmosphere of conspiracy and oppression pervades the uncomplicated but nevertheless gripping plot. Delaney is a unique character, remorseless, fixated, unyielding, treating women with honour mixed with contempt, but never cruel, and possessing enough of the moral high ground to avoid being an anti-hero.
