Great food, great service and wonderful Olde Munich Fayre. The meat was excellent quality but could have had a tad more spicing.
However, if the restaurant was Cool day. As one who has studied military history all my life, my wife and I stopped in here for a couple of beers only because Hitler used to frequent it until they stopped extending his credit there.
I knew it was now more a pool hall But, that being said, the old woodwork still remains and, as other reviewers have mentioned, the fixtures in the men's room downstairs predate WWII so it's easy to imagine who has stood in the same spot.
The price of the beers was very reasonable, but the service could have been better, and we didn't stay long enough to try the food. This is a honest authentic place, not a tourist trap.
Prices are below average and the atmosphere is much above the average. I think that this is exactly the place where the locals go. We went there to have a late breakfast on Thursday and Stopped off here for a casual lunch.
Food and drink was decent, and the atmosphere was very nice. There are many tables to play billiards and carambole. We went for a short stop and snack.
The place is nice and quiet when we were there around 5pm. Still a few people playing at the pool tables. Good beers and food on the menu.
A nice place. A great place to enjoy a game of pool or carambola in the center of Maxvorstadt in between the two universities. Adolph Hitler frequented this place with Eva Braun until he allegedly was booted out because of unpaid bills.
The urinals in the men's room certainly date back to Today, this is a comfortable pool hall. Tables are 5 euros an hour.
