View All Critic Reviews Oct 11, Although the show seems to highlight, and incentivize the murderer of Gianni Versace which I do not condone , its historical telling of the struggles that gay men including Gianni Versace himself, as well as the murderer went through during the mid s, which have almost been forgotten by modern society.
So, although I give the series low marks for trying to make the audience feel compassion for an insane murderer who happened to be gay, I give the series incredibly high marks for reminding us of the history that gay men including famous men like Versace had to endure in the mid s.

Gianni versace was never confirmed to have HIV either, and the implication that he in fact did was a little unwarranted. Overall though, this show is definitely worth a watch and will keep you engaged throughout.

Simpson", "The Assassination of Gianni Versace" still has a great assortment of casting, with top notch performances from Darren Criss, a beautiful soundtrack from Mac Quayle and another YES to the show.
A slow start that unravels to going back in time and getting faster and bloodier each second, with a wrap up that is pure and shocking.

Sep 20, Excellent show about the life and assassination of Gianni Versace and the man who killed him and 4 others in a murder spree back in Stellar performances from the cast, especiall Criss and Ramirez, and Martin was also a pleasant surprise as Versace's partner Antonio D' Amico.
The show focuses not so much in the crimes themselves, as in how Cunanan became a killer. The achronological presentation of the events adds to the fascinating story, and the production quality of the film is stunning.

Apr 20, The Assassination of Gianni Versace, the second season of American Crime Story is, in my opinion, better than the first because it features a beautiful cinematography and few main characters, which makes for a better development, which are interpreted in an excellent way by Edgar Ramirez, Darren Criss, Ricky Martin and Penelope Cruz, especially Criss, who is spectacular in the role and deserved to win several awards.
Apr 01, This season is a little frustrating since the shows quality go constantly up and down. From some of the best moments ever on tv, to sometimes long and boring uninteresting moments and sometime the timeline shifts too often also.
But overall still a great show, it both look and sound amazing and the acting is top notch, David Criss that played the murder Andrew Cunanan gives one of the best acting performances I've ever seen on tv.

Season 2 of this anthology series is set in Indianapolis and explores accusations of sexual assault involving teens at two different high schools, one public and one private.
In the premiere, shocking photos of Taylor are posted on social media, and the coach of a championship basketball team learns that two of his players may be responsible.
Anne calls to get help for Taylor, but it's not easy getting the authorities to pay attention to the alleged crime. Meanwhile, Leslie makes sure the Leyland School is ready for the impending investigation; Terri has an intervention with Kevin; and Eric's truth comes out.
A news article goes online describing what happened at the captains' party and naming Kevin as a participant in the alleged assault on Taylor.
Meanwhile, Anne is forced to defend herself after the item is published; and new evidence is revealed that paints a murkier picture of what really happened on the night in question.
Evidence found on Taylor's clothing means the team must prepare for DNA testing, which leads to an agonizing revelation for Eric, while Taylor tries to ease back into a normal life at a local public high school.
Taylor talks to the police about his actions on the night he was allegedly assaulted after Eric is forced to open up about his sexuality.
Meanwhile, Anne tries to process the revelation that Taylor is gay; a decision by detectives indicates that a resolution may be near; and Chris worries that a delicate situation could spiral out of control at Marshall High School.
Leslie defies the school's lawyer and welcomes Eric back to Leyland, but his return is not a cause for celebration among some of his teammates.
Meanwhile, Anne mulls suing the school rather than take a settlement; and Chris is criticized during a protest at Marshall High School over the suspension of three Hispanic students for fighting with an African-American teen who was not punished at all.
Anne's medical history is made public by an anonymous online poster in an effort to shame her, prompting Sebastian to reach out to her again.
Meanwhile, Taylor's emotional state continues to deteriorate to a level from which he may not recover; Evy's father receives a settlement offer from Leslie; and Eric turns to a stranger for comfort.
Leslie's job is in jeopardy in the aftermath of the tragic loss of one of Leyland's own. Meanwhile, Curt thinks his estranged wife has run off with their son Peter; Dan is shocked by Becca's confession; and Sebastian wants to help Anne get revenge on the people responsible for Taylor's condition.
The aftermath of the murder of a Leyland student changes the entire community's perceptions of the events since Eric and Taylor's encounter.
Meanwhile, Sebastian goes after Leyland by posting damaging material online, forcing Leslie into a defensive position; leaked information could hurt Kevin and Becca; and Chris is grilled by a school review board at Marshall High.

John Ridley's American Crime is one of television's most underrated shows, and one of its most consistently engaging on an artistic level.
American Crime will again remind viewers that there is no justice. There is no way to win Whether or not you believe that is up to you, but I'd be hard-pressed to see how exemplifying the worst of society is meant to better it.
Combined with Ridley's unblinkingly intimate cinematic style And we could use more of it. You're left with an unsettling feeling that even when the truth does surface the story won't be tied up with a neat little bow as it would be in so many other crime dramas on television.
American Crime returns The topical, Emmy-nominated anthology on ABC continues to feel like an artful work of premium cable.
Riveting from the first minute, with stellar, resonant performances driving a story with a high fiber content. American Crime doesn't flinch -- or preach.
But it does teach in ways that send it to the head of the class of It's certainly very heavy, dull material, but its relentless pursuit of examining the rampant social injustices of the modern world has a certainly nobility to it, even if American Crime greatly exaggerates that sense of importance.
Through its pointed cinematography, fluid editing, and deft manipulations of sound, American Crime achieves visual elegance and sonic engagement like no other network program before it.
The ongoing second season, which involves the alleged homosexual rape of a white student-sensitively and credibly played by Connor Jessup-at a party held by the basketball team of an integrated charter school, is much better.
It's tough material, but the outstanding writing and directing by Ridley keeps the action engaging. What's most arresting in this intertwining ensemble piece is what can't be said, what's seen but missed or misread.
